Our IKO Kitesurfing Center
The IKO kitesurfing and wingfoil center at Sakalava Lodge is considered a benchmark in Madagascar. It was the first kitesurfing school established in the country and has been operating in Sakalava Bay since 2005. We teach kitesurfing and wingfoiling according to the official standards of the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) , a global leader in training and safety.
Our kite school in Madagascar applies the IKO teaching protocols, internationally recognized as a guarantee of quality, structured progression and safe practice for all levels, from beginner to experienced rider.
The teaching team teaches in French, English, and Malagasy . All our instructors are IKO certified and have over 30,000 hours of combined kiteboarding and coaching experience . The center is IKO affiliated under number 205678.
Sakalava Lodge is also the only kitesurfing school in Madagascar that is a member of the One Launch Kiteboarding (OLK) network , which brings together the best French-speaking kite schools according to strict criteria of teaching quality, safety and customer experience.

Our kitesurfing school in Madagascar relies on an experienced team of 7 senior instructors and 2 junior instructors , including 4 certified wingfoil instructors . This structure allows us to provide flexible supervision and 100% personalized instruction, exclusively through individual lessons.
Since 2005, the Sakalava school has safely trained over 3,000 kitesurfing students . Our instructors are experienced professionals with many years of teaching experience and a proven teaching method. The team is considered by many riders to be one of the leading kitesurfing teams in Madagascar.

Pro Kite School
Our center is the only Pro Kite School in Madagascar , based in Sakalava Bay, and operates with recent kitesurfing equipment from the 2024 to 2026 generations . We provide a complete range of equipment to guarantee optimal, safe learning adapted to each practitioner.
We have 70 kitesurfing kites ranging from 3 to 14 meters , 25 twin-tip boards , 10 surfboards , and a foil board available for rent. Whatever the wind strength or your size, we have the right equipment to ensure progression, comfort, and safety. Equipment is included in our course packages and is unlimited in use.
For independent riders , Sakalava Lodge offers free storage on-site. Our instructors provide assistance with launching and landing, as well as supervision and safety on the water. A gear rinsing area is also available before your departure. This setup makes our center one of the best-equipped kite centers in Madagascar.
Our IKO Kitesurfing Center
By taking a Kitesurfing course at our school, you will have the opportunity to obtain a free IKO certification recognized worldwide.
The mobile application is very easy to use, making it very easy for you to prove your kiteboarding skills wherever you go with your phone.
It will allow you to easily access equipment rental at kite schools worldwide. Many kitesurfing centers refuse to rent equipment if you cannot prove your skill level and require you to take an hour-long lesson to assess your abilities.
If you wish to resume kiteboarding lessons at another school, your next instructor will know exactly your learning path thanks to the application and will be able to pick up where you left off.
